No, this is not a James Bond movie promotion I promise! But I have certainly stumbled across one of the best travel beauty secret-weapons ever, thanks to some very good advice from a fabulous Diva.
Two big problems I have when travelling is the impact of flying and hotel air-conditioning on my skin, and very interrupted sleep patterns. The sleep issue is particularly prevalent when I am on tour, as I have to hit the ground running and there is so much on my mind that I wake up several times during the night.
Of course, this leads to huge eye bags (think suitcase size) which are not great when you want to look fabulous!
But thanks to Deirdre this is now a thing of the past. One morning over breakfast in New York, I was lamenting the size of my eye bags and admiring how fab she looked when she shared her secret weapon (now mine): Chantecaille’s Gold Energizing Eye Recovery Mask. And I am hooked!

This may be very true, but what I do know is that I can apply the mask (which just goes under each eye) on a flight about 2 hours prior to landing, and anyone sitting next to me can barely see it. It works quickly and on arrival my eyes show very little effect from the flight and bags are almost non-existent! I also know that 2 days after flying for 24 hours in economy with minimal sleep, I was able to attend my step-daughter’s wedding without looking like I had been out partying for a month non-stop.
It is not cheap, but with 10 eye masks per pack which can be used over a long period of time, I think it is really a worthwhile investment if this is something that happens to you when you are travelling. I would highly recommend this if you are travelling for business and have a big meeting or presentation on arrival, or if you are attending a special event. It really works.
